How we calculate the Beat The Charts Index
Every track is scored 0–100 as the sum of five weighted signals. A track needs at least one forward-looking signal (Spotify, Shazam, YouTube, Reddit, or Markets) and must appear on 2+ sources to make the chart. Tracks that only appear on streaming charts without any discovery signal (Shazam, Reddit, or Markets) get penalized — this pushes catalog evergreens down so the chart reflects what's actually moving right now.
